Is Lorenzo Phillips out now with Deion Jones commitment?

I doubt he will be a part of this class. Devall IMO has a spot.

Yea, I think Lorenzo is losing his chance. I'm sure that he still has a spot right now, but if big names like Kiel jump on board he could lose his spot.

Brown and Phillips were going for the same OLB spot IMO. They are both out and it's Devall for MLB or bust now.

deion is going to be a linebacker, although I guess he could play some safety if he doesnt pan out at lb
I think the richie brown ship has sailed. If he wanted to play for LSU he would have already committed. I really think that Deion took his spot.
Lorenzo's recruitment will be really interesting down the stretch now that it looks like Sumlin will be gone from Houston and possibly to A&M. Oddly enough, it just seems like hes going to be forced to go to LSU as all his other options keep going down the drain. I guess I could see him reupping with A&M if Sumlin does go there.

LSULumberjack, I've heard that since Sept and still am hearing it though some people swear he's going to Houston or has lost his spot. The people that 1st told me in Sept said again today that Phillips still has a spot and will be a Tiger. They are very rarely wrong and have never given me reason to doubt them. The Phillips' saga is playing out exactly the way they said it would. He would decommit from Fla, flirt with Houston but be all Tiger,just not as soon as some would like him to be.

The more telling thing here is how many more LBs we take to finish out. If we take Devall, Perkins and Phillips...that pretty much signals some of these guys aren't going to be playing LB. Possibly keeping Davis at DE and maybe moving Debo to S. Or Grainier could also be a possible GS or on his way out?

Well you gotta remember that the staff would likely take Devall and Phillips before perkins.
He's in state, and there comes with that a state pride respect.

I believe they really wanted another DE like Ward or Spence to round out the class, but that doesn't seem likely..

Hilliard has been working on him hard to come to LSU from what I know and they are pretty close friends. . Guess we will see how it all plays out. The more OLBs the merrier. The competition to earn a spot should benefit all of them.
