I don't sense enough vitriol directed at UGA and its insufferably smug fanbase..

In case you've forgotten, this is what it feels like to lose the SEC championship to a bunch of barking, clay-stained rednecks who mistake Athens, Georgia for the fifth century B.C. Athens, Greece:

We still owe them for the 2005 debacle. I want vengeance.

I was there. Had UGA fans get in my face, insult my wife, attempt to dump a drink on me (just missed), etc.

I laughed.

Then they lost to WVU in the Sugar Bowl. Sorry, then they got blown out by WVU.

We pretty much got end Miami's football program. I got over that loss quick.

Compared to Bama and Arky fans, UGA fans are a pleasure.

Not totally accurate. It was a blowout early but I believe the final was like 38-35.

For the most part, I find Georgia fans one of the more tolerable fan bases in the SEC. Was in Athens last time we played there, and aside from one a-hole making a Katrina joke in my face, everyone else was pleasant.

I was also at the 2005 SEC Championship and had no problems.

Of course, I want to beat the f*ck out of them on Saturday.

I work with many Georgia fans.

There are any number of fanbases worse than Georgia's.

And LSU is going to crush Georgia tomorrow.

I kinda feel sorry for their fans.

CLM does to. He will continue his 2011 Revenge World Tour. He's returned the favor against Florida and kicked them when they were down much like they did to us in 2008.

He bitch slapped Auburn worse than they ever did to us.

He went into Bama and out-Saban'd Nick Saban, thereby upping his score to 3-2 in the series between the two coaches.

He kneeled the ball with five minutes left against Houston Nutt, simultaneously leaving the lasting image of Nutt's SEC legacy being Miles having such a lead he can afford to kneel with that much time left, AND flipping off the "CLM can't manage the clock" crowd, by, in essence, being so good he mismanaged the clock at his own pleasure.

He beat the offensive god Bobby Petrino by 24, holding his offense to ten points.

Now, all that is left is to go into the GA Dome and even the SECCG game score against Mark Rict and say to him "I ain't no first year SEC Coach now, buddy boy".

And then he will either go into history and right the wrong of the 1960 Sugar Bowl, after we beat Ole Miss in the regular season and then they beat us in New Orleans, by beating Alabama both in the regular season and in a New Orleans bowl game, or destroy his successor at OK State.

True, you did close that 28 point gap a bit.

Either way, you still pulled an Arky and lost the damn sugar bowl to an inferior team.

Ugh UGA

I too, was in Athens for the 2009 contest. It was a fantastic college venue. One image in particular has remained with me ever since. I was standing at the crest of a rise in the undulating, quaint downtown district which seemed to me (in my drunken haze) to be mere feet from their campus. The hour was late. I looked down, and there below me wound a glittering river of platinum blonds in short skirts. It flowed as far as the eye could see. I wanted to drown and be reborn in its long-legged current.

In other words, Athens had a lot of pretty girls.

I don't put the UGA fans in the bitter, beligerent genus of SEC fans where Florida and Arkansas reside. They're a peacable people. They just have this disporportionate sense of entitlement which isn't really justified by their on-field feats.

We cannot feed the arrogance by losing this weekend.

frick those preppy asshats whose dates I want to dance with....frick the geougia troopers who make me slow down to 80mph when I'm headed for the OBX....frick the complete jerks at Augusta National who still think women are "not worthy" when their gender is fighting and, sadly, dying far, far from home....frick em all.

I've gotta say, UGA fans are some of the least hateable in the SEC. I was in Athens last time we played there and it was the most pleasant SEC road trip I've ever been on. I sat in a Georgia section and shared good-natured banter with everyone around me. Nobody got disrespectful. Shared beer with some UGA fans where we parked, it was a good time. The only thing that happened even remotely annoying was a car full of frat boys that drove by screaming "frick YOU!!" as we were walking to the stadium. No big deal. The overwhelming majority were very nice and did their school proud. Hell, even the guy on ebay (UGA season ticket holder) from whom I bought the tickets was extremely friendly and helpful in our e-mail exchange when he saw my Baton Rouge address.

Honestly, they're a difficult group to hate, especially with all the gorgeous women they've got running around out there.

So here's a to Georgia fans. We're gonna beat the ever living daylights outta your football team on Saturday, but I like you guys.

I agree. . . with this guy^. I've spent a lot of time in Athens and they are smug. They are almost smug like Ole Miss fans. That's about all I can say about them. I hate Ole Miss, Auburn, Bama, Arkansas. Then Florida, Tennesse, ... then the hate seems to taper off.
