I remember rubbing it in my braves friends faces when Chris Burke hit that HR.

Good times

Aug 23, 1980, sat through a 17 inning 1-0 win by the Astros against the Cubs. Joe Niekro got the game winning rbi in the bottom of the 17th as well as the win.

Saw Hank Aaron, Lou Brock and others in the Dome. Didn't have a TV as a kid but had a small radio and listened to every Astros game. Got to attend about one a year. Ceasar Cedeno, Jimmy Wynn, Jose Cruz, Johnny Edwards, Dierker...

I used to go to the Dome straight after class for the few months where school and baseball season overlapped. Hang out in the $5 outfield seats during BP, enjoy some popcorn and coke when it wasn't $20 for a combo. Good times.

Some of mine

-Jose Lima's 20th win in '99
-Seeing McGuire and Sosa for every game they played in Houston during the '98 season of the longball
-Randy Johnson's first home start as an Astro in '98 in front of 52,000 at the Astrodome. He has a CG 5-hitter and I almost got one of Bagwell's 2 HR's that day. It was against a Phillies team led by none other than Terry Francona.

Hatcher's Home run to tie game 6 in the 14th

Scott's no-no to clinch in 86

).

Any of Ryan's no-no's

My first game ever (must have been 83 or 84'. Saw Kevin Bass hit two home runs off Mickey Mahler and the expos.

I just moved to Houston 2.5 years ago... Needless to say, the 7 or so games I've been to have been irrelevant.

But... it's always a good time. Even though, I don't like regular season baseball.

Here's hoping that they'll turn around soon enough so my daughters could have some great childhood memories in minute maid.

in '86 I was a sophomore in high school, and was doing my homework after school in my room, but had game 6 of Mets/Astros on. I remember going nuts when billy hatcher hit that homerun in extra innings to tie the game. i really hated the mets, was so pissed that the astros lost that one. still a great baseball game.

I went to Micheal Bourn bobble-head day once. Yep that's the highlight of the 2011 season.

As a young kid I would visit my grandfather in Lake Charles for a week or two at a time and we'd make it over for an Astros game. I have a team photo from 89 which has both Mike Scott and Nolan Ryan in it. I know I saw at least the Cubs and the Dodgers in that time frame and probably a couple of others that I cannot recall. I also got to see Bagwell during his first full season with the Astros. At my parents I'm sure my mid-90's Bagwell jersey is in my old closet.

Went to quite a few Spring Training games as a kid... Met JR Richards, Art Howe, Joe Sambito, Dan Larson, Enos Cabell, and Chao. JR was one of the nicest players to the fans, just a huge presence and very friendly. I cried my eyes out when I heard about JR's stroke.

Art Howe was one of my favorite players growing up - not because he was a *great* talent, but because he played HARD every single game. Dickie Thon, Terry Puhl, and Craig Biggio all followed the Art Howe mold.

I've seen the Astros play in FL, Altlanta, Chicago, Denver, Anaheim, Los Angeles, and of course Houston. I actually saw the last 2 games ever played in the Dome - playoff games against the Braves. Man, the pitchers we got to see in those 2 games alone could fill up a "First Vote HOF" ballot.

I can't wait for first pitch!

68 All Star game. Willie Mays mvp for his run scored. Only run scored. I think it was his birthday too. Stayed at the Warwick. After the game my parents went up to the restaruant/bar at the top and rode with Pee Wee Reese/Curt Gowdy/Don Drysdale, who were the commentators for the game.
Always went to the cardinals series in May. My whole family were cardinal fans, wtf, except me. Had fake ID in hs, and bought beer when I was 15. Nickel beer night was the bomb. Got my 12 year old cousin shitfaced.
80 extra game against the dodgers, listened to it in the car fixing to go squirrel hunting.
86 game two against the mets. Ryan losses, with no run support.
Last game in the astrodome.
Giving braves fan the tomahawk chop back at em when the astros took the lead at Enron, ha.
Clemens last game at home for the stros. By the way Doug Radars nickname was the rooster.

I was born & raised 100 miles east of Houston and had an aunt & uncle who lived there. Saw a bunch of games after I graduated from HS in 1965 and a few games in 1966 before I entered the Air Force.

Morgan, Wynn, Kasko, Aspromonte, Staub, Wilson, Dierker. Those were the days.
