In HA2, the newspaper with the headlines "Wet Bandits Escape" blows against the front door. So obviously the escape was big news and considering it was in the newspaper, it had occurred some time that day or the day before.
If that's the case why didn't the authorities notify the McCallisters that their son, who was solely responsible for their incarceration, should be on the lookout? At the very least, some police protection should've been assigned to Kevin.

Because in the first movie, Kevin never claimed responsibility for turning Harry and Marv in, and the Old Man got him out of his neighbor's house before the cops showed up. The McCallisters also never found out about the incident in their house, though I'm sure they found out about half the homes in their neighborhood getting burglarized and flooded.

never got why Kevin didn't take the credit for either incident. Especially in #2, the family is about to dig into all of these gifts provided by Mr. Duncan and kevin's reward is getting to open the first one randomly chosen by Buzz? No way. I would say "listen here assholes these gifts are all 100% here for me due to my heroic actions and I will give you the ones I don't want. Uncle Frank and Buzz, you 2 pieces of shite can just go sit in the corner because you aren't getting anything. "

While I'm on the subject of Buzz, why did Kevin never set some traps for buzz to get him to fall in line? A blow torch to the head or paint can to the face would have cut him giving you anymore shite really quick.

Add the rest of the family in on it. Kevin is patient, and once he got old enough, I'm sure he lured his family to something like the Overlook Hotel and slowly killed them off one-by-one. Uncle Frank is the first to go, then the rest of the family. Buzz is the second to last to die, then followed by Kevin's mom. Fuller is the only one to escape, and he promptly changes his name and moves to Toronto.

They don't even wait for him to open it.
Everyone smiles at Kevin for a second, Buzz shouts something like "OK everybody, let's dig in!" and Christmas Story style present opening frenzy ensues.
They are so concerned with the presents that none of them even notice that Kevin immediately exits the room so he can go give the bird lady an ornament instead of the food and blankets she probably needs.

Every year I check this thread for the OML "7 page" over analyzation of the Home Alone series. And every year i'm let down.

I may have already asked this but I was under the impression that the phones were out of service when Kev ordered the pizza. Either they werent or his parents really werent trying that hard.

We've done just about everything there is to discuss. I'll try to find more insights, but that gif above was a good one I never noticed, which makes the McCalisters even more malicious. It's not like today to where if you lose your ticket, you can just print it right back off. It was a huge hassle which would have for sure made sure they missed their flight, or at least Kevin and the mom did.
