...at his press conference.

It was fairly unsolicited as the question was about the young QBs already on the team.

I found that interesting considering that Kiel was at the game this weekend.

I'm still not sure If Mett will be the starter next year.

Mett's the starter, but Kiel could supplant him in year 2

if mett starts next year, he will start the year after that, unless he gets drafted or kicks in the teeth of a reserve marine.

I know what you mean, you are worried Miles will favor a runner and continue his unpredictable ways, but Mett is starting. And he will 90% be starting the year after unless he opts for pros, injury occurs, or gets in a bar fight

I'm sure Les will utilize a run-threat Qb, similar to the RyanP role in '07.

People have been saying Jerrad Randall has a lot of talent and have even speculated he will fill the role (running QB) next season.

chuckie u can't be serious? I think Mettenberger could go pro after next year he surely has the weapons to throw to. That is unless we run the ball the same times a game as we do now we shall see.

I think Miles wants another experienced qb on the roster with Mett. he sees how that has paid dividens(sp?) this year

Or, unless he leads us to a 9-0 record. Thats a pretty good reason to bench a guy.

waitwut?

there are no gimmies with Miles at the helm.

He may have said this as a strong hint to Gunner, as I hardly consider Liggins an elite QB.

I mean, Les is going to call any QB he recruits elite. But I think that Les realizes that getting Gunner would be a huge deal. A bunch of things can happen to your QB situation after next year. Mett could go pro, he could be ineffective, he could get injured, etc. And having two project QBs behind Mett is scary. Gunner would ensure no drop-off at the QB position for years to come.

I hear the kid Jerrard Randall has been impressive. He'll be a nice athletic QB.

He needs to put on some bulk and work on his accuracy. He's certainly got the arm strength and the wheels to create some noise later on in his career.

A buddy of mine actually said he put on about 10 pounds. He may still be a lil light tho.

That should make him about 190-195. Still need to eat more.

A national title doesn't hurt.
