Has anyone ever seen or know where the formulas that the various computer ranking services use can be seen?

I would be interested in seeing why the computers are so enamored with Oklahoma State.

Here is a link to website that shows a composite of a whole bunch of computer polls, including those used for the BCS I think.

Computer Rankings Composite

I do not know where all of the formulas can be found.

I know someone who has recreated the Colley Matrix computer ranking.

But that's a whole other story.

Most (5 I think) of the computers explain how they come up with their rankings and you can pretty much reproduce it. LINK to each.

Oklahoma State is highly ranked for two reasons

1) Big 12 play early in the season (OOC games)
2) The teams they have played have pretty good records

ULL 8-2- lost to Ok State and WKU (looks bad) but overall decent win in the computers eyes

Tulsa 6-3 (looks alright) BUT here is the key, their three loses have come to OK State Boise and OU. So that looks like a great win to the computers as well.

Texas A&M: record looks bad but then again their losses came to highly rated teams by the computers Arkansas, OU and Oklahoma State

I could go on and on but you get the point. Obviously all this does not matter.

And Tulsa's wins have been off Tulane, N. Texas, UAB, Rice, SMU, and UCF. So, Tulsa has lost against all notable opponents but beaten the scrubs, yet is considered a quality enough win.

ULL is very similar as well.

Some of these computer rankings leave much to be desired as far as true comprehensive analysis.

Seems the computers give too much weight to a cupcake opponent that happens to have a good record.

To me, a big FBS school beating such a team doesn't really tell me any more than a big FBS school beating a cupcake who happens to have a crappy record.
