The Gumps and Saban are a trip. Although Saban did say we were the #1 team in the country, he did say that they didn't execute when then needed to. I hate when coaches make those excuses because the reason his team didn't execute when they needed to is because of the OTHER TEAM. The other team had a GREAT DEFENSE that didn't allow his team to execute the way they should have executed. Bama fans still think they are the #1 team in the country, well their #1 team got beat on Saturday. Bama are the most delusional fans in the world

That bama's FG kicker is the reason LSU won.

Easy rebuttal: "Field goal kickers are part of a football team. You're dismissed for your lack of basic football knowledge."

Alabama fans and the team are completely demoralized. LSU went into their house and beat their undefeated team.

Here's a great quote from a Bama blog poster

"And beyond that, just the pain, all the damn pain, like a dull serrated Bowie knife twisted repeatedly through the chest. Longtime RBR readers will know that I make few concrete guarantees on this blog, but I can make you one in the immediate aftermath: If you picked up chlamydia last night it will reside before the pain from this loss does. Personally, I'd rather get pulled out of the sewer, dragged through the streets, and shot like Qaddafi than ever watch that game film again. If I'm ever tortured with that game film again it will undoubtedly be in the pits of Hell."

The Maze INT was pretty clear, the ball was jarred loose before he was down and MW never had more then one hand on it as the LSU defender pulled it away...

Just saying.

Still, any kicking game and that one wasn't close.

Im sure you will disagree with this, but please watch the replays.

2009: Peterson dragged his foot inbounds....Interception.

2011: The ball is clearly jarred loose before the Bama tide end touches the ground. Reid comes up with it....Interception.

Cheers.

But if they want to discuss stats, the 148-96 rushing yards stat is quite telling as to which team imposed its will, physically, upon the other.
totally agree. Apparent in overtime.

Before the day of the OT, I got one for you. What about the tie with Bama where at the end of the game, we move right on down the field after Mike Shula had scored on a passback to the QB and then I believe they made the 2 pt conversion and tied the game I think 12-12. Anyway, we move quickly down the field. Set up pretty well on the hash marks and David Browndyke misses the field goal. Bottomline. I didnt wwhine about it. Field goal kickers are part of the game , part of the team. If you dont like it then lobby the NCAA aboaut getting rid of field goal kickers BAma fans. Final 9-6. Deal with it.

Let me put it this way guys. A national championship team gets a few breaks during the season. While there was not much separating Alabama and LSU more luck went LSU's way.

Kicking is still a part of the game.

Now the Maze interception was very questionable, all I can say is now we are even? 2009 no call vs 2011 call? deal?

I really can't stand when you preface an absolute piece of a-hole bullshite, with a bunch of placating comments.

Kicking is part of the game. So is coaching. You were out kicked and out coached.

And there is nothing questionable about that interception you fricking Gump retard.

Expecting 50+ yarders to be automatic is your way of rationalizing the loss.

WTF does that mean - any QB game from LSU and that one wasn't close.

Any LB game from LSU and bama doesn't even cross 20 yards rushing unlike the sub 100 that they did.

We can play this if game all day long.

They just want to act like Alabama lost the game not that LSU won the game. Earth to Bama Fans, we rushed for over 140 yards on you and Trent Richardson had under 100 on 23 carries. WE WON THE GAME.

...and if Drew Brees was our QB there would be no game. See how IF works? Retarded isn't it.

You DON'T have a kicker worth a half a shite. Why didn't Nick recruit a kicker? He never has, that's why. Get used to it.

It's simple. Special Teams is part of the game and LSU's defense repeatedly put Bama in situations where it had to rely on its weakness. Thus, LSU was/is the better team. End of story. Losers will be losers and gumps will be gumps, however, and try to rationalize/justify the loss. After all, it is a natural reaction.

Seriously? What happened to the receiver has to maintain control of the catch after hitting the ground? So you are suggesting that the moment a receiver hits the ground he is down and possesion doesn't need to be controlled? What would you have called it since he didn't maintain ball upon hitting ther ground?

Close games like this are almost unbearable to lose, especially when your team seems to be the better team in almost every aspect of the game - which (for the sake of argument) they seemed to be on Saturday.

for the sake of stupidity is more like it. short glacier...long walk...you.

quote:

Because Bama has Richardson and a more dominating O-line, they get the nod.

is that why we outrushed them by 50 yds and TR averaged 3.9ypc while MF averaged 6.5ypc. just sayin.

Tell your friend that the best team on a specific day has a W behind its name in the boxscore. Anything before and after that specific day is just opinion.
