TM7 holding Dre

This was posted in another thread (by SouljaBreaux I think)- but since it could get buried ,I wanted to make sure that rantards saw this.

The replay does show unnecessary contact from Mathieu by putting a hand on the shoulder - Since both players were running at full speed , it threw Dre off balance and he fell.

It was not a thuggish move or a dirty play - it was holding as the Refs called it and it was penalized as such.

Someone did mention that Dre did the same thing to Mathieu in a previous play and this was the retaliation (unfortunate to be a more obvious play).

Was it a bad play - Yes

Was it dirty/low-level -NO

Agreed, it was a hold and Dre (unfortunately) was injured on the play, but it was not dirty or intentional.

It was a regrettable injury, but we were penalized and valuable field position was lost.

Only reason anyone throws out the word dirty is because Dre was on the ground for awhile. It was a stupid play by TM7 but in my opinion he was trying to get his arm in front to get Dre off target. He made the bad decision to grab on when he knew he wouldn't get enough.

All this bitching cause a player was hit in their chestpad and then spun AND the flag was thrown, so they don't even have that. More than can be said for block in the back on every screen play they ran.

Agree bad play but not what people have made it out to be. What gets people more fired up is the fact that he got injured.

someone make a gif out of the first part so it can be posted in response to every jackass saying it was a throat shot.

Holy shite! I had to work last night, so I didn't get to see any of the game. I kept reading how he should sit, and how it was a dirty.

After seeing the replay, there sure are a lot of sore, sandy vaginas talking about that play. Kirkpatrick got hurt on a freak play, not one that was dirty.

15 burned him tonight. What big tackles did he make tonight. All I know is that he almost cost LSU the game tonight with his selfish play on the punt

1. Burned? 15 never got behind him. Yes he had 2 catches on a crossing pattern in which he went out of bounds. Not exactly burned. So he gave up 2 catches and you say he was burned?

2. He SAVED LSU the game by coming across the entire football field to tackle Richardson on one of the busted plays. And He made another key solo tackle that could have also resulted in a touchdown. Either one would have cost us the game.

3. He made a mental mistake, but it is not nearly as bad as people make it out to be. Especially the ones claiming he "punched" the guy. Guys hold on punt returns all the time, he was beat and attempted a last ditch effort then immediately realized he was wrong and actually tried to let up.

I really think it's time for LSU fans to accept TM7 for who he is. For those calling him dirty; that is the farthest from the truth and down right wrong to label him a dirty player. He has never once been a dirty player. Does he talk trash? Yes.. He does. Does him believing he has hater fuel him? Yes it clearly does. It clearly is a motivation he prefers to have.. but in no way is he saying anything thuggish or doing anything wrong. Let him be himself. Yeah it's nice to have guys who don't talk and have all the class in the world.. but it's also nice to have guys like Tyrann who busts their arse for their team and aren't afraid to talk the talk and walk the walk.

And for all those people claiming other corners are better.. everyone has a role and you can't say they are all more valuable. TM7 is a difference maker game in and game out. He makes plays.

TM7 Saves A TD. Notice where he is lined up.

and here is the Full length version the TM7 holding penalty.

TM7 Holding

I think some people should eat crow about calling him dirty and saying he punched the dude.. but it's whatever. I support Tyrann.

Yep, even though it was a stupid play, it wasn't dirty nor did it have evil intent.

Kirkpatrick flopped, IMO.

Tyrone Prothro said something along the likes of "Tyrann Mathieu would've been fined for a hit like that in the NFL!" as his facebook status last night.

Someone commented on it, "Because you'd know about how the NFL works, right?" hahaha

I didn't think it was dirty/thuggish...I thought it was stupid since OBJ did not need that block...

oh well...

like I said last night...I've seen A LOT worse. That was nowhere close to the type of play that would justify the vitriol filled reaction it got.
