Doesn't this mean Loftin can vote "Hell naw?"

Sources say WVU had a verbal agreement with the Big 12. It’s believed that the league informally extended an invitation to WVU and that WVU accepted. However, it now appears that the Big 12 board of directors will meet again, perhaps on Monday, to vote on conference affiliation

The Big 12 should take both of them. Everybody wins.

you seem to forget that Dodds and Powers over at texas have said multiple times they do not want to go back to 12 and have clearly implied that this is b/c they believe it makes the road to the BCS easier.

So WVU has been turned down by the ACC, SEC, and now maybe the Big 12?
Rough year.
Rough year.

Yeah, it looks like the "free market" isn't working in Louisville's favor.

That's how Big XII go.

Of course TX may change their tune as they watch OU's season unfold. Without a conf championship game, no Big 12 team with 1 loss (namely OU), has a chance of getting back into the NC conversation.

It is also because they agreed to equal revenue split & 1/10th is greater than 1/12th. And neither West Virginia, UL, or BYU is going to increase the pot enough to add two shares.

the conference is always screwed so long as the LHN exists.
The Big 12 can't create a proper conference network without texas.
If they can't create a network, the conference will not be worth staying in after the 6 years of their pact is up.

The Baylor AD was on radio today and apparently said that the TV folks have told them that they have to have 10 teams to keep the current contract, but, if they go beyond 10, the money isn't going up, so going to 11 or 12 would mean everyone taking less. Not likely to happen.

This whole thing is getting ridiculous. I was listening to one of the call in shows on the way to work this morning. Every UofL caller was saying how the BCS was BS and unfair and that it should be dissolved. They sure didn't feel that way back when they left Memphis to go to the Big East, and they probably don't feel that way 9 short hours later after it looks like they may keep their BCS affiliation after all. I don't care who the Big 12 takes, but this whole thing is becoming a farce.

You know, at one time a man's word was all that was required. Details to be worked out later, but the deal was done.
With the Big 12, and the spawn of Satan DeLoss Dodds, you're always going to have to consult the contract because they have no honor.

Yup. You're getting a view of world that we as Missouri fans and our friends at Texas A&M have been living in for the Last 16 years.
Actually I guess us Missouri fans haven't had to live in that world near as long as the Aggie Fans.
