Racoons During the Day Time

Just curious....I was born and raised on a farm and never really saw a raccoons out during the day (unless we jumped them up from their sleeping place or saw them sleeping in the trees) but I have always heard that if you see a raccoon during the day that it is sick? Well I have a deer feeder that sits my back yard and I have raccoons visit it regularly anytime after about 2:00PM...and they are just hang'n out munch'n on corn and not acting all crazy and crap.
So what gives? Do I have an armada of sick raccoons hanging out behind my house that are just laid back or what?
Also, caught this little buck on the game camera I have in the back yard a couple of days ago. I have several pictures of him and oddly enough he this little guy is a 11 pt because of a pair of double brow tines and a odd extra point towards the end of his right side rack. Just act like my little crappy pvc pipe homemade feeder with 2 bright blue bungie cords is not there...LOL This big pine that you see sits about 40 feet from the back edge of the pool in the back yard :)

seeing coons during the day usually means they are sick or fricked up (the animals)

Always heard the same. I have three young ones that regularly visit my bird feeders in the daylight. They look to be in good health.

I've seen them multiple times sitting in or walking to the stand in MS. Even more in LA. My brother stuck 2 in one hunt with his bow on an afternoon last year.

If they are coming to the corn then I wouldn't assume they are sick. Animals will take advantage of a good thing when opportunity arises.
And momma just chased them off the porch with a broom.

I see coons from the bowstand all the time. They are certainly more active during the night, but will feed whenever they can.

I've never known a coon to pass up a free meal, no matter what time it is
