With all of the negativity/end of the world posts the last few days, I figured I'd post something encouraging. Patrick Robinson is the 13th rated cornerback in the league (based on corners who have been on field at least 50% of snaps). He is 12th in coverage and the QB rating against him is 61. That's very impressive when you consider the Green Bay game is included in those numbers.

Junior Galette doesn't have enough snaps yet to fairly compare to others in the league (he would be around 20th in the league if he kept the same grade with more snaps), but he is second on the Saints in pass rush rating (Ellis is first, Smith is third) and has a positive run defense grade as well.

Robinson has clearly taken a big step forward (ala Jenkins last year), and I don't think Porter has much of a chance to win back his spot. You could do a lot worse than Tracy Porter for your 3rd corner. Galette seems to be developing into an impact pass rusher, which the Saints desperately need.

I've noticed there tends to be a 1 year lag for our draft picks. Meachem seemed like a bust his first season, Jenkins the same. Not sure about Ellis.

Hopefully that means good things to come next year from Jordan and Ingram.

Watching Robinson in coverage this year compared to last year is night and day. Problem is that he is lacking in the hands department. He could've had 2 int's vs Bucs that could've turned the game around with one of those being an easy pick. Getting into position is only half the battle. Gotta finish the play.
