I know there aren't many tailgaters in that area, but I know a lot of people park there. The field across Aster from the Kirby Smith parking lot is now roped off for band parking only. That's right. The ENTIRE field, capable of holding 200+ cars and about 20 groups of tailgaters, is now roped off for 50 cars.
I'm aware it was roped off last week, but we were hoping it was just for the band alumni game. My wife called today and was told that it's closed for the rest of the season. Just an FYI.

why would you want to tailgate where you are likely to get robbed?

If people are able to park there then they won't pay for parking. LSU trying to force people to pay by limiting other options.

seems like a rather odd place to tailgate

Really? You think the whole band would travel to campus in only 50 cars? I doubt they carpool that well. Closer to 300+ easy.

Reserving that lot for the band is complete bullshite. That lot was 1/4 full at the end of the game. With Kirby Smith open again, and the new band hall, the parking back there was already cut tremendously. I guess it's a boon for the hippies that live on Aster, "$20 bucks to park brah, $40 for an 1/8 of weed."
