And a play action roll out on the 5 where there is a serious threat to score if a DB or Line backer doesnt come off is better than a play action with a stone footed qb. IM not saying JJ should start but you cant deny that having a qb who can roll out helps offenses in that situation. I can only thing of 1 roll out this entire season from Lee which isnt bad but JJ brings a different talent to the field. That talent helps in the redzone.

thats it.

Um...a majority of those who think JJ will play don't want him to play.

A majority of those who think JJ should be on the team also don't want him to play.

Where are all of these JJ supporters who want him to play??? I'm honestly not seeing any. Just a bunch of rantards clutching their pearls over the mere thought of JJ playing.

'blind hope'? Really?

Some people just can't recognize LSU is not built for a running QB,It's a pro-style offense made to run the ball and use play action. The QB must be able to identify defenses and adjust,Lee has shown the ability to run this offense effectively.

Gives us a running threat... Are you serious!!! pretty sure ware and ford are our running threats. No need to bring in JJ when we have only not scored one time in the redzone this year and that was a sure touchdown Randle dropped

Exactly!

Why?

1. Injuries happen. Remember how JJ got his first game action at LSU? Lee got hurt. Then when JJ hurt his ankle/foot Lee came back in to play. Its the SEC. Everyone gets knicked up sooner or later.

2. Lee vs REAL DEFENSES. Until Lee goes up a against a defense that is legit with talent and team speed its not unreasonable to assume he may struggle against them. Now how much or IF he will struggle is unknown. Also how long will Les wait before he takes JLee out for JJ.

Everyone is concerned because of the absolutely obnoxious leash that Jefferson had last year, and the fact that there wasn't even a true QB competition going on before the fight happened. That, and people don't want to rock the boat on this pleasure cruise that is the 2011 LSU season so far.

Like Clement's TD last week?

Lee does everything you want a QB to do better than JJ

Ware, Ford, Shep, and Blue all run better than JJ

I don't see what his addition could bring to the table that is worth the risk of messing with a formula that is dominating at the moment.

How many mistakes and bonehead moves have you seen come from our QB this year?
Compare that to last year.

Hi Pot! said the Kettle.

The OP's questions wasn't 'explain to me what makes some of you want JJ to play'.

You are comparing a whole year to 4 games? How fair and merciful you are.

Keep in mind Les and the coaches arent exactly letting Lee toss the ball around like its NCAA football 12 out there.

Add to the fact Lee hasnt gone against a defense full of first, second and third round draft picks yet and of course he's looked good.

How bout we compare from bama through the cotton bowl? Do you like that? No one knows how JJ would look this year. He looked very good the first series of the spring game and then reverted back. Unbiased parties said he held his own with some of the best qbs in the country this summer at camps. I dont think he should start. I think Lee should continue to play the majority of the time because he has done everything asked of him. Its a vote for lee not against JJ. Let Lee's accomplishments stand on their own
