Mettenberger - A Player not a Savior

I have read a lot of threads today and some of them are touching on the subject of starting Mett over JL but those that suggest it are getting shot down with the phrase "don't break what isn't broken."
I am a fan of LSU and Les Miles, have been since day 1. I am also a JL fan when he plays at the level he knows he can. He is much better than he played in 2008 when he tossed 201 interceptions, however, he is not Mettenberger. He does not have the arm strength or accuracy of Mett.
So far, we have not played but two games and, the one time we played a good team (Oregon) JL looked good at times. Sure, some of the passes were dropped and we ran the ball a lot but is JL the guy that will get us through a brutal schedule that begins tomorrow night? Do we see him leading us all season to victory?
Why not Mett? He threw against a terrible opponent last weekend but he still had some great tosses and he even looked like a big time QB.
So my real question to everyone is this, at what point do we hand him the reigns? We could be as dominate on offense as Oklahoma with Mett.
what does everyone think?

Should I cancel my 'Mett for Jesus' t-shirt order?

My philosophy is simple, play Lee and if he gets it done, so be it. When he falters, bring in Mett.

We can't hand him anything. That's up to Les.

Backup this season, starter next 2 (hopefully.)
There should be a fine for this

I think people should learn the difference in a blog and a thread and quit posting novels. Novels that say the same shite over and over again at that.

Why does a team that's been as successful over the last 10 years as LSU has been need a savior?

Youre right, we needed another thread on this

WOW!!! Another Mettenberger thread. Only if we could go 15 minutes without another one

Really? Do you remember the Sugar Bowl 8 years ago. We shut their "dominate" offense down. SEC is a different league dude.

The problem I see with Lee is that he still continues to make every throw off of his back foot. At some point in time, this will come back to haunt him and could possibly result in a pick six. He also looks very timid back there and afraid to take a hit. I know we only played Northwestern State, but Met looked awfully comfortable in the pocket and throws over the top after planting his feet.
Just my observation guys.
