My place of employment is wearing red on fridays in support of ULL. I then mentioned that was great and all but im gonna be wearing my purple, boy did i get the pissed off looks! My boss went as far to say i couldnt, but i said it was collared and policy says collared shirts are allowed on fridays.

Anyone have this problem?

We may work in the same place. Seriously

Wear a white LSU shirt or something neutral. Wearing purple seems like you're tying to hard.

I live near there and yes that's ridiculous. I think wear red day is so high school. Should you have to remind people to support their school? Oh wait yes it's ull.

I'm sure this article has been shared before:

I grew up in Lafayette, graduated from LSU. Most people in Lafayette don't mind if you're a fan and a graduate, it is the ULL graduates that support LSU that the diehard ULL fans usually get pissed off at. They have sports envy, they aren't the only ones.

Did you ever stop to think that maybe your employer was an alumni of ULL or USL or SLI? I know they can't tell you what to wear to work; but don't get yourself in a bind trying to be a jerk. I agree with another poster. Just wear something else.

My parents always did. Most people in Lafayette are LSU fans but there are some die-hards.

How about a red shirt and a white CLM LSU hat?

Or an LSU button. Or....a Mike picture propped up on your desk/cube/door?

You're right, no need to get pissy.

As to the person in Houston whose UT officemate is giving him/her grief -- I work in a large office in the Houston area, lots of Aggies, UT, OU, Texas Tech people. Up until the Shady's thing, they were all pretty much suffering from envy. Forget them.

Tomorrow is supposed to be "wear your favorite team's colors" day. I thought most Fridays were like that already.

Somebody needs to explain this conceprt to your boss and the idiots you work with.

I work at a large law firm in Lafayette, and anyone wearing ULL gear on Friday would be laughed out of the building. Hell, they would be laughed at wearing ULL gear on any day. Our firm is die hard LSU through and through. Most of the attorneys are wearing LSU gear on Friday.

We proudly wear our purple and gold in a sea of red...and whatever other color ULL wears.

Id wear purple and not even think about it. They may give you evil looks and mumble things under their breath like "He thinks heeeees sooooo much better than everyone because hes an LSU fan and wears his LSU shirt on wear red day, ugh!"

Dont worry man, you are better.

I went to state for 2 years and had multiple classed with football players. Think I wore maroon and white?
