Look impressive last night. Very strong arm. Look for ESJ to make some noise this year with their new coach. Actually played very disciplined

Darion Monroe from East St. John. Texas A&M commit.
His scouting report from ESPN is this:
Monroe is a speedy and explosive athlete that will make the transition to wide receiver or cornerback at the next level. He is an undersized, very thin athlete with terrific feet and outstanding initial quickness as a shotgun spread dual-threat QB. He is actually a pretty savvy passer with a pistol for an arm and is a dangerous run/pass threat on any given play. His run skills are outstanding. His ability to exploit cutback lanes and tiny creases with burst and acceleration is impressive. He reaches top speed rapidly and can stop and start on dime and is a big play guy on the perimeter both as a runner and passer. His body control, balance and agility to keep his feet are all excellent. He is a smooth athlete with quick hips and needs to be very elusive and not give defenders a clear shot because he does not possesses the physical stature to withstand a lot of punishment. Monroe is very gifted at improvising when things break down. His ability to evade and make something happen from a broken play is excellent. Obviously there will be a learning curve to make a transition to another position in terms of the little things, but Monroe is a very instinctive player. Needs to get in the weightroom. Good prospect that is a playmaker.

These are the reasons why he will be a CB in college and a very good one, IMO. Nothing against the guys we have committed right now but I would be happy to have Monroe on board as well.

He also has the exact skill set, ability, and instincts to be a dynamic and dangerous kick/punt returner too.

How did rendell delay look? He's a middle linebacker for esj. As a sophomore looked to be pretty good. Tore acl in first or second game of junior season. I think the kid could pull a scholly from a la tech or slu. What do you think?

Yeah, Rendell had a pretty solid game on Friday night. Nothing fantastic but he showed great leadership on the field and did a great job of directing the other players. I was quite impressed with his coverage skills and his ability to sniff plays out. I heard he camped at SLU, LATech, ULL, and Tulane. I don't think he has received any offers but with a stand out season, he may pull a late scholly.
