Because we all the know the Saints wouldn't do something like lay an egg against a sub .500 team in the playoffs.

Yet having the defense shredded by a team with a losing record in the same playoffs means nothing negative for the Saints?

We were decimated with injuries to our #4 defense and had absolutely no running game to rely on. We became one dimensional and Brees still managed to drop 30+ points on the road in a hostile environment. Falcons were at home and healthy. No excuse to get destroyed like that. Try again.

Your lack of real football knowledge just shines through & through with your ignorant arse post. So what if we lost to Seattle at Seattle in the playoffs?! The Saints team that went up there & lost was a team of the walking wounded. No Malcolm Jenkins, Pierre Thomas, Chris Ivory & Jimmy Graham. Teams just don't fare well going into hostile environments like that & pull out wins without key players.

The first thing opposing fans want to bring up is the fact that Green Bay had plenty of injuries also & still won the Super Bowl. Well it was obvious that the Packers had better quality depth. All that playoff loss did was show how handcuffed our FO was last season having to deal with the free agent rules for Super Bowl winners. The FO had their hands tied behind their backs & couldn't sign free agent upgrades or add quality depth either. By the time the Seattle game came around this really showed.

If have paid any attention to this lightning fast free agency period, you would the Saints have made significant upgrades to the D-Line. They also have added quality depth in several other places. This team is going to be deeper then the team that won the Super Bowl. All Who Dats see this & that's why there is a great deal of optimism going into this season.

As far as the Falcons & Matt Ryan, I personally never said the Falcons or Ryan sucks. The OP asked for unbiased assessment of the Falcons & IMO that's what I gave. I don't think Ryan is that great without a running game. His success leans heavily on play action. If you had any comprehension skills you would have read in post where I stated that the Falcons will be more explosive on offensive but that won't mean they will be better.

This season our D-Line is beefed up to stop the run. I don't see us giving up many yards on the ground. That will mean Ryan will have to put the Falcons on his back against us. If our secondary is healthy for those Atlanta games, the Falcons will be in a bind & that's why I'm confident the Saints can win both games.

Hate is really a strong word, so I'm just going to say I hate a strong dislike for the Falcons. It's obvious that you are a Saints hater though so you can GTFO & go lick the Falcons & Ryan's shaft & balls somewhere else.
