Anyone played Shadow of the Colossus

Picked it up yesterday to try something new. Played for about an hour and did a lot of riding around. What is the point of the game? And is the main guy NOT the most accurately named person in a video game (his name is Wander)
Looking up a walkthrough is easy, but I figured the G/B would give me better information and a honest oppinion about the game.
TIA

Love love LOVE this game, along with Ico. But just keep in mind it's not like a typical game in any way, shape, or form. The only fighting you do is with the 16 Collossi. Main point: you ride around exploring, trying to find them. Once you have, you have to figure out how to take them down. It's just a beautiful game that's getting the HD re-release this October.
I can answer any more questions you have:thup;

It's been a while since I've played, but I believe if you hold your sword in the air a light will show you which direction to go. This is the kind of game that you should just sit back and relax with. Unlike most games, it's not all about making progress. Just enjoy the scenery and the awesome boss battles. I recommend only playing an hour or so at a time.

One of my top 5 games of all time. They are re-releasing it and Ico on the PS3 in December with current gen graphics.
It's basically just a puzzle game. You wander around trying to find each colossi. Once you find them, the real puzzle begins and you have to experiment with your weapons and surroundings until you figure out how to beat them. Most of the bosses can be beat in a few minutes once you do figure out how to reach it's weak spots, but it might take you an hour to figure out how to reach them (which can be frustrating at times). Also, many of them are really straight forward and easy to beat, but because you go into the encounter expecting it to be much harder, you'll overlook the simplicity of it and get stuck for a while. Then you'll figure it out and see how simple it really was and you can't do nothing but laugh at yourself and call yourself a dumbass for overlooking the obvious.
Pretty genius game, IMO. Definitely not for impatient gamers or people who need nonstop action. More for gamers who enjoy puzzlers and can appreciate the atmosphere and artistic side of video games.
Edit: as mentioned in the above post, use your sword to guide you to each boss. Itll reflect a beam of light in the direction you need to go. Also, listen to the disembodied voice throughout each boss encounter. It'll give you clues on how to beat each one.

Ico and Shadow of the Colossus show that video games are an art form.
