re: Jefferson: "I will be the starter, hands down"

Good for us its 2011, 2010 is over.
I am cautiously optimistic.
As far as execution, I think Crowton was a victim of his own ego. How many times did we see both Lee and Jefferson under center, arms up in the air. . .no clue what was supposed to be going on?
No QB on our team is that stupid. . .especially after 3 or 4 years with the same OC. You can argue that Lee didn't have the snaps. . .but he has been under Crowton for four years! It wasn't the QB's incompetence, it was the QB Coach (or lack of one). All of our QB's showed the same bad habits last year, as in their freshman year.
Hell, I think the improvement from both QB's in the Spring Game was enough to get me excited about the season. JJ did well, considering he was throwing without a thumb. Lee managed to not throw off his back foot. Mett looked like he is on the cusp of being a good one.

Post some links. I mean really whats sooo bad about some of the things he's said? You mean that after a horrible game he said he thought he played OK??? Really... that's sooo horrible we have to ostracize him? Maybe he was thinking about more than just the completion %. Like how he handles pressure, and drops from the WR. I don't know. But is it really that bad?
Or was it that he said the guy in the picture was George Jefferson. Oh Noes! The sky is falling. He most likely was thinking of Washington but knew it was a Jefferson related pic. I'm sure he didn't think it was from Good Times. Back then all white guys looked the same. Who gives a shite.
Some people make it seem like he said he wanted to rape some old white lady after the game.

the offense last year was not a just a JJ or JL problem.
They were just a symptom of a disfunctional system.
And a mediocre oline.
Lets not let facts cloud our judgement, JJ fanboi.

Win or Lose Miles will stick with JJ and he know's it. I could have told yall this at any point of last season.

"Body of Work"
How can Mett have a body of work? Miles is starting JJ because he's been here 3 years and that kinda takes precedence over everything else.

Just giving you the reasons JJ and Miles gave.

I think if JJ blew it for a few games in a row this season Mett. may get a look. JJ would have to play pretty shitty to get to that point though. He is definitely the starter and will be even though fall practice hasn't started. Our best bet is that somehow JJ improves a helluva lot.

Does JJ have anyone to blame other than himself for all (or at least the majority) of this heat he gets?

quote:He actually never said that. He said, "George," not "George Jefferson." As you pointed out, he was clearly thinking of George Washington and either misunderstood the question or momentarily forgot the condition. Very much like contestants on Jeopardy who are given a question about the Mona Lisa but get confused and say "the Louvre;" it's not because they confused a 2' by 2' painting with a multistory, 100+ year old stone museum.
Or was it that he said the guy in the picture was George Jefferson.

(adding this to the pull-down excuse menu-maybe it can replace the "but he's only 19" selection)
Video I saw of him in a little feature WAFB did over the weekend showed every single ball he threw arriving at the receiver with the nose of the ball still up. Rarely hitting them in stride and his windup is still painfully long. If his motion has been shortened then it must be a little like saying someone that weighs 400 pounds lost 15. Too imperceptible to tell.
It continues to bother me that apparently the kid thinks he is good. If the coaching staff is blowing that smoke up his butt, shame on them. We heard him say repeatedly last year that he thought he had a good game when he had once again failed to produce passing yardage in triple digits. If he really buys into what he is trying to sell us, then his incentive to get better might be limiting any chance we might have as opposed to if he was watching film and seeing how bad is really is most of the time, and working hard to get better.

I've said this a hundred times on here. It was like watching a rerun of Leaf and Dixon at Oregon when under Crowton. Then Chip Kelly comes in as OC and Dixon was a Heisman candidate. I think the point is that Crowton is a horrible QB coach.

Saw the same
I don't expect much improved play this year and for les to keep starting him even after 50yd passing performances.
