I clean the grates at time of cooking. I bring the grill up to very high heat, and then wirebrush them clean. Then I take a paper towel, fold it into a square, pour veg oil on it, grab it with the tongs, and then wipe the grill generously until the grates glisten.

I do the same if I'm out of Pam, but I usually use lard.

Beer n Brats.

1) Go to store and either get some out of the deli case (Whole Foods) or pick up some Johnsonville Brats.

2) Fire up your grill.

3) Put brats in a foil pan and then cover with beer. Then put pan over fire on the grill and let them boil for about 15 minutes.

4) Take the brats out of the beer and then over a direct fire to brown up.

5) Pour beer out of pan by tossing the beer on the lawn. Then add sauerkraut to the foil pan and put on grill on indirect heat.

6) After brats are browned up, return them to the foil pan with the sauerkraut.

7) Serve with a bun or by themselves.
