He became Nadal? So it was Nadal vs. Nadal the last five times?

Nadal in 4.

Why? He's playing lights out. I also thought the same about Maria this morning.

Novak will crush Nadal's will in straight sets proclaiming himself as the true #1 and eventual GOAT

Ditto. Yeah, Novak is in the finals, but I feel like he is not quite comfortable on grass. We've seen it in the Baghdatis match and a few others. I think he needs that extra split second to load up that clay and hard gives him. Plus, Nadal's slice serve in the ad court on grass is lethal. I'm rooting for Nole, but I don't see it happening. The truth is, a Nadal/Nole French final and Nadal/Fed Wimby final would have been the most competitive. Ralph in four.

Nadal in 4. No real reason other than I think he's better than Djokovic.

If you put a gun to my head, I'd say Djokovic.

Noles in 4.

If it goes to 5, Nadal will most likely win.

Rafa in a tight 4 setter, Joker has had his number of late(4-0 in '11), and it's a now respectable head-to-head mark due to '11(Rafa 16-11), but Rafa 5-0 edge in slams h-2-h, 2-0 edge on grass..and Rafa 10-2 alltime in slams(won last 7..2 early losses to Fed at Wimbledon)

Leans to Joker Most Aces -200, Rafa Win -145, Rafa +310 in 4 Sets, Over 42.5 games -110

Novak breaks Nadal to take the first set 6-4

Novak beat him like a drum. Nadal absolutely looked shellshocked by how Novak was demoralizing him on Centre Court.

For a while there, I thought NBC was replaying Sampras versus Pioline.

It's funny in the in match thread so many tennis "experts" like Barry were swearing up and down that Novak was "pushing" and was going to choke.

Dude was a monster first 2 sets - McEnroe was right it was simply impossible to keep that up. Little doubt that Novak would win; in match betting never had him worse than -200 even in the 4th.

Yep, like I said before, it was so much like the beatdown Sampras laid all over Cedric Pioline several years back in the final at the AELTCC. Nadal had one breakout set, then Novak went right back to showing him the match tactics which have allowed him to beat Nadal 5 straight times. Poor Rafa didn't know whether shovel sheite or wind his wristwatch, and the look on his face during and after the 4th set proved it. He was as lost as a ball in high weeds.

The overall match wasn't as dominating as you are making it seem. If Djok had lost the initial game of the 4th set (which he was very close to doing), he may have completely unraveled.

Djok played 2 sets the 2 sets of his life to start the match. Djok is currently better but not by nearly as much as some here believe.

The announcer never said he was going to choke. However, it was clear that both players had their moments when they tightened up; Nadal more so than Djokovic.

And of course the odds for Novak never went below -200. He's up a set. Even with how Nadal played the 3rd set, that's still a pretty big gamble for people to bet on Nadal at that point.

Still though, Nadal had a chance once he broke back in the beginning of the 4th set. He had another shot to break after that but couldn't do it. Novak just played too well.
