I like a cheap blue or green led light that attaches to my ball cap for walking in/out in the dark.

I like a bright white LED or xenon bulb handheld for tracking.

I use an adjustable headlamp with an elastic strap for my game cleaning kit and for setting up duck decoys.

I have started using a Stanely battery powered 1 million candle power light for spotlighting hogs. When I am away from my truck. With the truck I use the Cyclops 12 volt version.

Most light makers have begun to advertise the Lumens on the packaging.

Since most lights are now LED's which are relatively cheap to make a very durable there is not much difference in lights.

I find the coleman lights at 115 plus lumens to be very bright, they are compact, and well made and fortunately cheap at about 20 dollars.

I also bought an entire flat (10) of cheap 9 LED flash lights at tracter supply company for $1.97 each and my only complaints are that they are made of light grade aluminium so they feel little weak, they come painted in bright colors, and they do not come with a wirst lanyard but for the price they cant be beaten.

As far as battery life for your handhelds get some nickle cadium or lithium ion rechargable batteries on line or at any camera store in what ever size you need.
