Rough crowd here this morning.
I honestly suggest getting a .22 before you dive off into a $1000+ AR. Buy a ruger 10/22. It'll run you a little over $200, but you can shoot it for close to nothing. A .22 is also the best way to get some gun smarts. Once you get some gun smarts, you can decide if an AR is really what you want.

dont give me the 2nd ammendment stuff. i have a safe full of "assault weapons" but i can promise you none of my ak's or ar15 were my first gun. this dude gettin an ar after "shooting a few handguns" and killing his neighbor or himself on accident really doesnt look good for responsible gun owners. i agree with the 10/22.
