He is behind the ball and needs training, but the thought that people should not get guns because they didn't have someone to teach them is absurd. There are resources out there to learn and educate himself…

Yeah, that whole 2nd amendment thing is silly. It's just for hunting guns anyway.

assault weapons.
What does this term even mean? I can't stand it. The AR is just a semi automatic rifle.

And yea someone wanting to get into guns is a good reason for civilians not to own them. That's pretty sound logic.

Rough crowd here this morning.

I honestly suggest getting a .22 before you dive off into a $1000+ AR. Buy a ruger 10/22. It'll run you a little over $200, but you can shoot it for close to nothing. A .22 is also the best way to get some gun smarts. Once you get some gun smarts, you can decide if an AR is really what you want.

dont give me the 2nd ammendment stuff. i have a safe full of "assault weapons" but i can promise you none of my ak's or ar15 were my first gun. this dude gettin an ar after "shooting a few handguns" and killing his neighbor or himself on accident really doesnt look good for responsible gun owners. i agree with the 10/22.

Every gun owner should own a 10/22. I taught my little brother how to shoot a rifle with mine. Not to mention it's one of the most fun little guns you can have and very cheap to shoot.

It gives squirrels and nutria all kinds of hell too.

It's easier to learn on and has a far less effective range than an AR though.

I frankly don't feel comfortable knowing that civilians can have a rifle with a pistol grip. It looks dangerous.

I'd say a shotgun that every duck hunter has is more dangerous. The civilians being able to get them doesn't scare me. What does is the fact that criminals and street thugs cam get them whether it's legal or not.

Why is he more likely to kill himself or his neighbor with an AR than a shotgun or .22? That comment is like the anti "assault" rifle crowd. The AR is deadly because it's an assault rifle, not because of the dumbass controlling it huh? If a guy is dumb enough to kill somebody with an AR on accident then he can damn sure do it with any other weapon, the AR doesn't make the guy any more dumb

virtually any gun can/will kill you if it's pointed at you and someone pulls the trigger. that isn't the issue here. do you honestly think an AR is a good platform for someone with no experience to learn with?
