This is like "Where were you when the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor?" moments.

I was at some friends of mine (SEC, but not LSU) and one of them said she felt like we were going to win with a homerun. Boom - Warren hits it and all of us were ecstatic. They hate Miami with a passion.

i was sitting down the third base line about 10 rows up. I still have the ticket stubs from all the games LSU played in that year in my trophy case.

I remember it well because I had just had my son. My parents were outside saying goodbye to my grandparents and I ran outside screaming "We won, we won!" They looked at me like I was crazy trying to figure out how that could be true.

I didnt call it exactly, but at the time, I was 11, and when Miami went ahead in the top of the ninth, my dad thought it was over. We were about to leave the camp to go back to town, and I convinced him to watch the last half inning. It is my all time favorite play in all of sports not only for the result for LSU but because I got intoduced to LSU baseball by my dad that day. Been addicted ever since.

Anyone have a quality audio clip of Hawthorne calling the homerun?

I remember there was a thread on the Rant a while back compiling famous moments of LSU history and I think it was on there but I can't seem to find the thread.

Thanks.

Was playing in a softball tournament (believe it was the Cajun Classic) at Pelican Park in Lafayette. We were up in the bar on the second floor when he hit that baby..place went freaking nuts, all games stopped and the liquor started flowing! Warren Morris and Kirk Gibson, the two most clutch at-bats in the history of baseball, imho..

I was in Cancun on senior trip. Watched the game at the Oasis hotel bar. There were so many Louisiana people there. The place went nuts. I was forced in my room by hotel security. Just watched the video again...brought great memories back..GEAUX TIGERS!!
