All:
Mrs. Ziggy and I are taking a little mini vacay this Friday through Memorial Day at a condo in Fort Walton. This is our first time in that area.
Any recommended places to eat out there?
TIA....

Old Bay Steamer in Fort Walton. Get one of the platters with the king crab, snow crab, and shrimp. Casual and fun place.

We like Captain Daves for seafood. It's right on the Gulf in Destin. (Heading east, take a right at the light at the Bass Pro Shop. Go to the beach road and take a left. CD's is a few miles down on the right)
I also like the BBQ super sampler at The Shed in Destin right past the bridge on the right side and McGuires right across the street. (Try the Irish Stew, Sheppards Pie or Corned Beef and Cabbage)........

If you're looking for something a little less beach-like, I've always been a fan of Basmati's. I little drive from Fort Walton, but pretty good little place.

Tommy Bahama's is great!! I recommend the 3 course price fix menu for $33. For the appetizer order the crab cake or the shrimp; for the entree order either the Ribs or the Filet Medallions; Dessert order either the Coconut Cake or the Key Lime Pie!
If you're looking for seafood, go to Dewey Destin's, Back Porch, or Pompano Joe's. Avoid AJ's (food quality and portions aren't as good as they were 10 years or so ago) and avoid Fudpucker's (bleh food).
As for breakfast, go to the Donut Hole.
And if you're looking for something else other than seafood, try Tuscany Italian Bistro. It's a somewhat upscale Italian restaurant operated by a former Hell Kitchen's contestant winner. We had a great waiter and he let my boyfriend (Hell's Kitchen fan) go to the kitchen and take a picture with Angelo. Waiter got a good tip from us that night!
I've heard Fat Clemenza's is good too but I haven't had the chance to go yet.
