Official announcement will be made at 11:00 at Regions Park.

Certainly not surprising, but very disappointed in the SEC's decision to keep it in Hoover.

Edited to add link from announcement 5 minutes ago: LINK

Hoover is getting old. Need to rotate locations.

As a big fan of the SEC tourney, Hoover is such a meh city with hardly anything else to do but go to the games. They need something else to attract fans other than LSU fans to the tourney. I would have loved if it got moved to Memphis.

The only two pros I see with it being in Hoover are that it is an easy driving distance and I get to go to Jim and Nicks BBQ again.

Trustmark Park in Jackson would have been great too, but rumor is the state flag issue killed it.

You have to wonder how serious the SEC really was about finding another site or rotating it.

I would have liked to see it move around a bit, but I don't mind it staying either. We go every year and enjoy it. And I'm not going there to do anything other than go to the baseball games.

I wonder if they are going to do any improvements to the stadium. I know that was something that was being talked about.

So you'd rather have it in a city where theres hardly any attractions outside of the game besides golf and BBQ?

They would've had to promise some stadium improvements, but not sure of the specifics yet.

Well you are going to the SEC baseball tournament right? For baseball? The park isn't to big to drain the atmosphere. Its cozy and everybody is close to the field. Parking lot has lots of space to tailgate and they have a top notch RV park. Perfect venue for college ball.

I also go to Omaha for baseball, but it's everything else that the city offers that makes the experience so special. Of course it's a larger stage, but the SEC could really capitalize on a marketing opportunity if they have it in a city with some sort of attraction.

I kinda see what your saying with marketing, but they already have the TV deal with ESPN. Location change wouldn't help that. And they draw over 100k every year in Hoover. Not going to do that too many places. The local support is phenomenal and its a central location in the SEC.

The location is ideal being in the middle of the conference. I didn't realize that they drew that many fans over the course of the week/weekend.

Im not saying Hoover is a bad city or anything of that measure, but I just can't help but wonder what if given it is moved to another location.

The 5 year agreement shows they were never serious about moving it. The Gumps that run the SEC just wanted to pressure Hoover into renovating the park.

The SEC is a joke

Terrible place to travel to for a weekend. Awful, but completely expected, decision by the SEC.

No, Memphis would be far superior to Hoover. Hell, do it in Mobile and I'll drive to Orange Beach and stay an hour away and enjoy the beach and baseball.
