Hollywood Casino Parking lot and River merge

Here are some pictures from our drive down river road today from the Hollywood Casino Parking lot (which is merging with the River) all the way down to Gardere. Not the most awesome quality pictures as we were driving and there were massive amounts of cop and other officials that weren't allowing people to stop. No worries - we weren't gonna go and disturb the levee's and cause issues. Just went for a drive.


the parking lot of the Hollywood Casino is now part of the Mississippi river. Hard to see in this picture (they were being very cautious and making people take pictures quickly) but there really isn't land between those wet areas - the river was flowing over and that's all mud and soggyness.

Sand boil underneath the new Mississippi river bridge.


very large sand boil that's been sand bagged on river road almost to Gardere coming from downtown. There was also water on the road here , water in the ditch across the street, and a temporary "high water" sign on the side of the road.
