UT's leftovers?

Not this year, buddy. A&M wanted Malcolm Brown, Tim Cole, Jonathan Gray, Cayleb Jones and Curtis Riser but not so much the rest of their recruits. They're good players but Sherman targetted and recruited other guys harder.

This misconception comes from the way Sherman and Mack recruit. Sherman has many offers out. Some committable. Some aren't.

Mack pretty much only gives "offers" to players that are ready to committ. So it appears he has a 100% hit rate when he doesn't. He's good. Maybe the best. But he's not 100%

Also, Von Miller, Cyrus Gray, Jeff Fuller, Christine Michael, Luke Joeckel, and Jake Matthews are great leftovers! Good enough to beat Mack's 5 stars this past year

compared to whom? Texas went 5-7 this past year and if you watched their spring game they won't be much better this coming year.

A&M won 9 games last year and will be favored in every game they play this year except at 0U. (Ok St is at home and the neutral site game with Arkansas should have the Ags a small favorite as of now)

Michael was more an LSU/Texas leftover . A&M was a distant third in his mind until he realized he wasn't getting offered by the other two schools. Ftr ole miss and possibly vandy could have beat Texas this year

Flagship will wipe the floor with you.... If they don't it's strike 3 and we kick them to the curb.

The only reason TAMU was good last year was because the traditional powers sucked. Texas is going to wipe the floor with you this year. You play in a shitty conference to go with it. The only good teams are OU and Texas every year and that conference is getting weaker now.

C-Mike was a 5 star. Texas took Chris Whaley instead of C-Mike. How dumb does that make Mack Brown?? And Les wanted C-Mike IIRC. He had a loaded class of RB's in 2006 and in 2008 has was C-Mike or bust. He didn't get C-Mike and didn't sign a single RB that year

0U didn't suck. They won the Fiesta Bowl and were Big XII champions. Of course, A&M beat 0U by 14 points though.

But if you guys want to think a team in the preseason Top 10 sucks, go ahead.

I'm not sure why you guys are all so defensive about A&M. You won the Cotton Bowl. This thread is about the Rivals list. Let's talk about that. It seems as soon as you guys set eyes on an Ag the thread is automatically derailed

Also, I see a signature bet here! How many points do you want to give me?

And don't puss out now. If you want to crawfish a little I'll take you to the woodshed without any points. So, sig bet is on??

And for Memphis:

Flagship will wipe the floor with you

Arkansas is ranked about the same spots preseason as A&M is. And they have won the last 2 years. But I doubt they wipe the floor with us. The game is early in the year and they are replacing their QB and 3 OL starters. The game is pretty much a toss-up but I think if the game was played tomorrow A&M would be a slight favorite in Vegas.

And losing to Arkansas isn't that bad. LSU does it pretty regularly in recent years

Does Les often tell 5 star players to hit the road?

Les seems smarter than that. He's an excellent recruiter

I agree about Michael but think the Ags deserve some credit as well. It's refreshing to see the passion of a fan base that has a 1 year winning streak. Theres nothing wrong With a little hope. In fact, people go cookcoo over Saban because he's "quote" an NFL guy. That fact should be troubling to the rest of the Ag region. Sherman actually had winning records at GB.

I'm trying to defend you. Les doesn't offer every 5 star. That would make him stupid due to the 5 star success rate, which isn't very high. Les has trOuble committing to guys with academic or behavior issues to work through. See Eddie Lacey, Floyd raven, and Borque. This Is presumably why Lsu is 11/12 in roster arrests ahead of vandy in the sec.

Les did not want C mich... Get that through your skull now. Christine had several interviews where he kept saying he thought we would offer and he would commit soon after.... That offer never came and we took ford in that class. Pratt was committed at the time as well, and many of us would rather not get into that.

jdg, I wasn't trying to imply that Les offers every 5 star. But Les was recruiting him. That is known. It's a 5 star RB that's only 3 hours from campus. I don't know for a fact that he had a committable offer from Les, but it's hard to think otherwise

And it is flattering to think NFL teams want Sherman (at the time of his firing he had the second best winning percentage of any GB coach ever. Lombardi being the best) But Sherman has stated many times that he has only aspired to ge the HC of 2 different teams. GB and A&M. He's done both now

Well then good job passing on him. The kid is a beast. If you guys want to pass any other recruits our way that could likely get drafted in the First Round of the NFL we will gladly take them
