He's arguably the greatest all-around 1st baseman to ever play the game.

Just think of the numbers Glen Davis would have put up if he played half his career at Minute Maid and was juiced up as much as Bags.

he played most of his career in the Astrodome, a notoriously pitcher friendly park

I can't believe Bagwell is getting so much love and the juicing isn't a bigger subject.

1. Biggio ... Multi position all star, 3000 hits, leader, full career with Astros, first ballot hall of fame
1a. Ryan ... Actually much better than Biggio, but alot of that better was with other teams. If you ask best player to ever play with Astros it's Ryan, but then that starts a list with Morgan, Randy Johnson, etc.
3. Bagwell ... Should be hall of fame but won't because steroid rumors ... Full career with Astros.
4. Cruz .... Great career. All with Astros. Consistent.
5. Cedeno ... Great player, hurt by Astrodome size or his offensive stats would have been better.

Top 15 Honorable mention: Wynn, Dierker, Richard, Dave Radar, Berkman, Oswalt, Wagner, Morgan, Davis, Scott, Bass, Doran, Knepper, Bob Watson, Ashby

Top 5 could have been: Caminiti (drugs), Lidge (head and trade), Thon (beaned in the eye), Beltran (made huge mistake going to NY), Hampton (made huge mistake going to Colorado)

Name another 1B who brought as much to the table as Jeff Bagwell. He stole 30 bases twice and had over 200 career stole bases. He's the only 1B who's a member of the 30-30 club and he did it twice. He played good defense. In his prime, he hit over 40 HRs a year, was a .300 hitter and walked over 100 times a year. Oh and he put up all that in the fricking Astrodome which was a death knell to hitters. Give me another 1B who could do all that. Elite patience at the plate, outstanding baserunning, very good hitter for power and average, top-notch defense. The guy did everything well.
