Ouch, maybe Temple wants the job

As Trent Johnson approaches year four on the hot seat at the PMAC, former LSU stalwart Collis Temple, no fan of Johnson, says the 2011-12 campaign will be crucial for the coach.

“It is extremely important to me that we win and win consistently and that needs to start next year,” fumes Temple. “He ought to be eight and eight, which is 50-percent in the conference. In my 40 years of personal experience in and around LSU athletics, if the football program was .500 for more than one year, we would be looking for a new coach. We need to put that same standard to basketball. We don’t need to be mediocre. We don’t need to be below average or average in men’s basketball.”
