The Biggest Problem with the Baseball Team!

They have zero confidence right now!
It's going to take them coming thru in the clutch to overcome that!
I am going to support this team no matter what but, these last few games have been so hard to watch!
They better figure somthing out or, Vandy may end up embrassing us!
This was a weekend where we were facing pitching even this team should be able to hit! Next weekend we face pitching almost no one has hit. It's not looking good for the Tigers!
I think I would feel better if we were getting runned by ten a game than losing all these close games and I can't help feel sorry for Mcune, Gausman and Alsup they have pitched well enough to win anywhere in the country.
I haven't advocated PM making coaching changes but I am starting to think that some may need to be made in May, maybe he needs to take the Les Miles approach and find them some other employment and get some Lsu calabier guys in here, because this just isn't working.
If these guys keep playing like this I really think PM may do what he did back in 07 and not renew 5 or 6 guys scholarships and find them some lower levels to play at!
We still have 16 games left and we will see how that turns out!

The biggest problem is I thought they fired Smoke, but he's still coaching. Everyone in the park can see when a pitcher has lost it or is tired. Everyone that is except Smoke Manerie. The last 2 seasons our pitching regresses as the season goes on. Time to start searching for a coaching staff. Same's true in basketball.

Well look how easy that must be! Bring in a whole new staff in 2 sports. Glad you're paying for the buyout. So, who ya gonna bring in, Sarge? Jim Wells?

There's something wrong with the PROGRAM!
We lost 4 of our last five SEC series last year, including two sweeps and have won 1 of 4 SEC series thus far in 2011, including 2 sweeps, with another sweep looming today.

I really question Maineri's decisions regarding pitching. You'll see a guy clearly in trouble, and Maineri will stick with them way too long. The bullpen will be empty. I understand letting a guy dig his way out of a hole, but frick...
Not to mention the fact, that our hitting is total shite.

Losing to vandy, no matter the score, won't be an embarrassment at this point.

I agree with confidence. Saw the same in 2008, then they went on that incredible run.
At some point you would like to think that the hitting and pitching would come together and they would win.
When you lose all of those 1 run games, it really works on your approach to both hitting and pitching.
Take last nights gamme for example, Gausman was right there and looked good even on the guy that hit it out. he was 2-0 and got it to 3-2. his FB inside was a little fat.
There was nothing wrong with that approach. that is what baseball is all about. Gausman tried to overpower the guy in and get it past him instead of giving him something less enticing and maybe working on the next guy. Why? because he "owned" the guy in previous ab's in his mind.
There is really nothing wrong with that approach until you lose. PM played the stats and lost.

They have ZERO internal, team leadership on this squad.....Mahtook, Hanover & Nola have failed miserably in leading this team to play to it's high level of talent!

Biggest problem....coaching.

Need a couple good wins to turn it around. We have the talent.

Other than Mikey and the two frosh pitchers, you would be ard pressed to back up that claim! They certainly haven't shown it.

LOL. Pointing to the pitching as the reason for our problems is waaaay off the mark.

This is very true. Everyone knew this team would be young and that would have some effect. But, this team seems to be young and weak minded.
