Okay, so I'm at McDonald's at lunch because it's Catholic Filet-o-Fish Friday, and there's a group of people at a table laughing hysterically at this video, playing it OVER and OVER again:

LINK

You've all seen it. It's the one where the cat cusses out another cat with subtitles.

As I watched these people be highly entertained by this, the thought struck me... is it better to be easy to please or hard to please when it comes to comedy?

Maybe I'm the one who's wrong because I don't find the attached video all that funny. But then again, maybe I'm right because it takes a little more than that to make me laugh.

Are all laughs equal?

What do you think?

When it comes to comedy, I think it is best to be easily pleased.

I hate people how are too miserable to laugh at stupid/silly comedy. Sure it's not intelligent, and you probably saw the joke a mile away, but come on, lighten up and laugh.

It takes a lot to get me to laugh out loud but that doesn't mean I'm not enjoying something to a certain extent. Usually I can see comedy for what it is and enjoy it. However there are limits as to anything. For instance, all of the Epic Movie, Date Movie, BS "comedies" that come out these days are just awful and I refuse to budge from that position.

I appreciate your honesty, Flatyger.

Say... you weren't at McDonald's on Lee around 12:30, by chance, were you?

huge difference between a good "silly moronic movie" and a bad "silly moronic movie". the cancers listed above join the disney channel as the main reason kids grow up as assholes.

It would be rude not to.

As a kid, one of the earliest belly laughs I can remember from a TV show was in the late 60's from a rerun of "The Honeymooners" when Ralph came back from the hall, with his hand on his head saying "I fell down the stairs!"

The Classic 39 of the HM is still some of the funniest shite EVER on TV.

I tend to have a strange/dry/dark sense of humor.

Outside of Old School and Anchorman I don't find Will Ferrell funny.

I don't like any of the parody style movies that aren't made by Mel Brooks.

I think Josie and the Pussycats and Idle Hands are both highly underrated comedies and Foregetting Sarah Marshall is easily the funniest movie that Apatow was associated with.

Kids in the Hall was one of the funniest sketch comedy shows ever.

It's much easier to laugh at stupid humor when in a group. It's not a peer pressure issue, I don't think, it's more that laughter is infectious.

Like I went and saw Jackass 3D with my girlfriend and think I laughed maybe twice during the entire movie. Then a week later a bunch of co-workers wanted to go, I reluctantly went with them and found the movie hilarious.
