The team is due for some good breaks. They have lost a lot of very close games. It's not like LSU is getting trounced. They lost two 1 run games to Arkansas and 2-0 on Friday. Lost a few close ones to Florida.

Before the season I thought pitching was uncertain, but I knew there was a ton of talent there.

Hitting was going to be suspect with the new bats, and there are not a lot of pure stud hitters in this lineup. Mainieri needs to find a few in a recruiting and he needs to ignore (to some extent) how well they do other things (speed, glove) etc. He seems to like guys who can do it all. While that's great, you need guys who can just swing the stick even if they're slow or so-so fielders. Matt Clark is a good example.

We have some major talent but maybe they just need a year to gel and get some experience. Seems like everyone is a freshman.
