20 year inflation indexed treasuries are selling at 1.5% interest.
I'd go with that. Doesn't seem like a lot of interest, but its inflation protected.

You could buy 2,000 ounces of silver at approximately $86,000 with current spot prices and premiums accounted for. Wait until the mania phase is well underway when silver spikes to a minimum of $500 per ounce, which would give you a million dollars to buy some real estate (rental, single family homes) at even cheaper prices than today's within a 3-5 years. The rest of your $164,000 could be divided amongst a variety of precious mining stocks, oil company stocks, Potash mining stocks, alternative energy company stocks and some commodities that are going to go up in value.
