I'm heading to St Croix for business next week. This is my 1st time to that particular island. Any suggestions on a some good places to take customers for drinks and some dinner? TIA...

Gonna go ahead and say you should stay away from Two Brothers Meat Market.

Police release details of murder, arrests

Been reading the news down there, heading to St Thomas next week.

It is Sunday so I am not breaking my word about Lent. Many alternatives there, for Italian Tutto Bene is the place to go, Bacchus and and Fort Christian Brew Pub(small micro -brewery) are GOOD. Now for the East end try Duggans Reef, sits about ten yards from the beach, the restaurant at Chenay Bay can kick arse as well. Mid-island just sucks. F'sted has a few options that are good. Desire shite faced, the Lost Dog Pub does some damn good stuff from mid-week on, but through the week does a very nice pizza, down the street is a place called Pier 69(run by dyke go figure), also the Blue Moon on Strand St is very nice and a bit of NOLA funky to it. Just remember life in the left lane can confuse you(they do drive on the wrong side of the road so be careful). As the sun sets the Rainbow Beach Club north of F'sted is a nice little spot to watch the sun go down, and maybe catch what is known as a Green Flash(sunlight through the water that is freaky). If you get there on Thursday and they start Trivial Pursuit, tell them the Flounder said Jello, it might make them laugh. ETA Kendricks and Rum Runners are two other great spots, but Bacchus is the best in town

Found another couple to avoid...

quote:

Elizabeth's at H2O restaurant and Lao'Quinda restaurant each were issued health violations, said Health spokeswoman Eunice Bedminster.

Howell described the health violations as "similar to what you might see in 14th century Europe," with "rats and cockroaches walking freely."

Bedminster would not go into detail. "All I am saying on the record is: They were unsanitary conditions," she said.

First choice, Bacchus is awesome!
One of the best meals I've ever had, chef/owner from New York.
Second Choice, Tutto Bene. Food is good, atmosphere is average. Plus here is the owners are from LA as are a lot of the customers.
Spiny Lobster at Duggans Reef is great, setting is awesome.
Drinks and burgers at Cheeseburger in Paradise, it's a good time.

Well The Island was cool but it was far from one of my top 5 islands that I've ventured to. I did have some very enjoyable times and good eats at several of the recommended places but overall I wasn't very impressed by the island in general.

Of the ones I was able to visit, I'd rank them as follows for future readers:
1. Bacchus - shite was GREAT!
2. Duggans Reef - Sweet location
3. Cheeseburger - Great place for a few brews and a tasty burger.
4. Angry Nates - Liquid diet that night...had an unreal party crowd the night i was there but I don't know anything about the food....it was more of a crawl bar.

The US Virgin Islands are largely awful, save for a few spots on St. John. Not to say people shouldn't go there, but if you are travel that far, just go to the British Virgin Islands. USVIs far too overdeveloped.
