Call LDWF and talk to an agent about clarification. I did this during deer season. For hog night hunting you can use 12 gauge and above(no buckshot) any caliber above .22 tongued for rifles . This may be different for turkey season though

Only thing you can use at night in La is a shotgun with buckshot or a .22 rifle. UNLESS you get the landowner to contact LDWF and get an exemption in writing which you will then have to carry on your person.
