Houma has a bigger/better Mardi Gras than Laffayette, so I guess Houma is twice the city Laffy is. Oh, and Grand Isle was voted in Yahoo's top 10 best winter beaches, and they also (I would assume) have more "vacationers" than Laffy, so Grand Isle is a much better city.

No, there are numerous of other reasons that you probably do not care about. But how petty was the state's legislature to change a half century law that allowed the board of regents to approve name changes for universities. I guess someone was threatened by it.

There are some of us who understand that having multiple in state teams make regionals isn't a bad thing. The same discussion came up when we played SLU. Personally, while I don't like the attitude of some of the other in state schools fans, I recognize that LSU has it's obnoxious fans too, so I tend not to lump everyone together
