Do anybody think LSU would ever go to Lafayette and play UL there? They travel to Tulane, Southeastern, McNeese, and even Nichols. For some reason they do not travel to UL Lafayette nor Southern as of late.

I was thinking Louisville played LSU since it said UL.
ULL is in Laffy. UL is in Kentucky....

LSU's legal name is Louisiana State University and Agricultural and Mechanical College. You dont here of people getting butt hurt for using LSU. There are tons of universities that do not use their legal name ie University of Texas is really University of Texas at Austin. Nevada is really university of Nevada at Reno. A university can ask / use a variation of ones legal name

If you knew anything about the relationship since 2000, you wouldn't wonder, ya heard?

Never heard them called that on a sports show or paper or ESPN.
I dount LSU fans would give a rats arse if it wasnt so funny to see how butthurt the ULL fans get about it.
It tickles me to drive by the college and see the "Lafayette" part removed all the time.
I mean come on! Who really cares! They play in the Sunbelt which is basically the worst league in the country. I know High School teams that woudl rip them a new a-hole in football.

I don't care what they're called, they still suck. There are some good looking girls there though.

It's completely acceptable to change the spelling of words in a quote transcripted from someone else. They're considering this to be a misspelling of their school's acronym.
What they're considering is actually illegal and there are laws on the books in Louisiana to back it up.
They & their school's brass know it. They don't care.
What they're doing is unethical and they do it merely because they can't stand being the 3rd rate, low rent, side show act in state.
Semantics aside, quotes aren't intended to be changed.
I wasn't a journalism major, but I used to work in LSUSID way back in the day.
Herb would've caned us fuh dat.

NOT TRUE. There are signs all over campus that say UL and don't mention the Lafayette.
You were so scared of getting around it at first you would put the "Lafayette" on the back of the cap across the center. Now you don't even do that sh!t anymore.
Just admit you're sneaky backwoods hicks from Lafayette with a little bit of oil money, a decent downtown, and a case of penis envy that's comparable to a randy seahorse next to a Budweiser Clydsedale.
Punks.

You forgot Land & Sea Grant College. And in the case of Agricultural & Mechanical or Land & Sea Grant Colleges, most universities don't use the "academic designations" that their universities are honored with. (albeit some colleges do like the A&M designation). Most universities, that are considered "regional" do use their region as part of their official & unofficial "tag" for their school (ie. university of Louisiana at Lafayette).
Personally, I couldn't give a rats a$$ because I am quite confident in the fact that I do not believe that anyone would ever confuse LSU with a regional college in its own state that chooses to use the states name as their "tag". When anyone in the sports world mentions football, baseball, track, etc in Louisiana, does anyone really believe that people don't think of LSU? ulala has been to the CWS ONCE, & I doubt, outside of Louisiana, many people even think about them when they start talking CWS, much less thinks of them as THE Louisiana team. Let them get their kicks & make themselves feel good, there is little else to celebrate as a cajun fan, except a HUGE win over LSU.

It is almost guaranteed that University of Louisiana Lafayette will "disappear" off of Louisiana State University Agriculture and Mechanical schedule for at least 2(two) years............I'll send this to the SID for editing....

Looks to me like they are quoting PM and purposely changing the words/acronymns he said.... isn't this illegal?

Im for all the schools in LA doing something like this.
Obviously, ULM becomes the University of Louisiana. UL for short. Louisiana's Warhawks.
Louisiana's State University. Louisiana's Tigers
Louisiana's Tech University.
Northwestern State University of Louisiana. UL Demons.

You are tripping. A university can asked to be called whatever they want in regards the athletic recognition. Again LSU's legal name is Louisiana State University and Agricultural and Mechanical College. So is it illegal to refer that school as LSU?
