the article mentions $10,000 going to lyle's elite scouting service. lsu's reply was they deal with a dozen services. does anybody know if $10K to elite is an unusually high number?

Oregon paid 25,000. That's unusually high. That said, though the Dig article didn't mention it, LSU paid more to different services attached to Lyles previously.

It is not and furthermore all big-time college programs use the services to some extent. No one school is going to get hosed for the use of the services or their agents. The NC2a investigation currently underway is to determine whether or not to simply ban the use of said services, including the camps they sponser. Much the same sort of things goes on with the AAU basketball camps btw.
