Since most judge a season by conference play first, including myself, I'd answer no to the question. The following list of seasons LSU won fewer than the 3 SEC games they won this year: '57, '59, '66, '67, '98, '01, '10

well I didnt see the '57,'59 or '66 teams play but I have been going to LSU basketball games since 1974 and I can honestly say when veiwed in relation to the talent level of the rest of the conference which may be at an alltime low this team is the least talented and worst by far I have ever seen at LSU. I would take the '98 and '01 teams in a heartbeat over this team and I think the '10 team would handle them fairly easily as well.

I have never seen a team give up so many 3 on 1 or even 4 on 1 fastbreaks in a season. That is not a talent issue but a desire issue. What I see is a team devoid of talent and mental toughness and a coach who allows it to happen.

Just because UK isn't in the top 5 this year, doesn't mean the conference is at an all-time low. 4 SEC teams will make the big dance for sure.

Alabama and UGA are on the bubble and among the first 4 out.

My guess is that one of those will make it though, and that'll be 5 teams in the Big Dance, which is the most we'll have had in since 2008 tourney when we had 6.
