Of course it will be filled. It's a Saturday night in Tiger Stadium. It's going to be crawling with people as usual. I fully agree.

its supply and demand. if you dont like it, dont come, dont pay the fee. if there are enough of of you tards that dont come, dont spend money, the costs will go away.

my money says the money gets paid, the same number of people show up, and nothing about the tailgaiting atmosphere will change. just mho

OK

there have already been multiple posters who host pretty large tailgates say they expect their numbers to be cut in half

WE SHALL SEE

i'll just throw this out there and be done. a crew of 3 vehicles and a trailer will cost an extra $105 just to park. and that's assuming hayfield/levee lot parking, it's even more the closer you get.

And then other tailgates will have their numbers double, and it will all average out.

Ha, we host a tailgate that averages 150-200 people coming through it on any given weekend and we fully expect that number to stay that high. Maybe we are the exception, but we still expect people to be there. Here is a pic of the reason why people will still show up

i hear ya, but come on. posters talk shite. myself included. lsu football aint takin a hit jack. especially with the team we'll field this year. you're just being a whiner, and i'm not saying it's not justified, noone likes to spend more money. but frick, the people will be there. you know it. just suck it up, and if you really hate it, dont pay the money, thats the only voice you have.

And I just realized that our tailgate is a perfect example of how the fees will change nothing for LSU... In 2008 we charged $5 for all you can eat/drink all day (yes we charge, no way in hell the people who pay for all this can afford it out of pocket) well that turned out to still cost a lot of money so it was up'd to $10 in 2009, guess what, the same number of people still showed up every week.

I still want to know what ultimately brought about the parking fees.

I hear you, but what we are trying to tell you is that in this situation your rebellion will fall on deaf ears. It won't make a lick of difference. You can choose to save your 20 bucks, and LSU won't flinch. 10,000 people could be with you, and LSU still won't flinch. It's just tailgating, it's not affecting the asses in the seats.

i swear i'm not trying to hate on you, and yes i'm going to piss in your corn flakes one more time.....

they won't. pay it or don't. if we have a nice season, or god forbid a nc, the prices will only go up.

its not right or wrong, its just how things work.

if you sell candy bars and you have 10 each day to sell, and you sell them all for $1, and they sell in 1 minute each day, you'll up the price to $3. if they still sell quickly, you'll up the price to $5. if they still still sell, maybe up them to $10, or $20, or $50. if people keep buying, the price keep climbing. simple economics. lsu aint a charity.

maybe you can join that anti-miles crowd and hope we lose every game. that way prices might go down, we suck, and there is a new coach. lsu football will be in the dumps, but at least everyone can afford it.

i'll shell out a few bucks and take the first senario fwiw

i agree with all of this when it comes to tickets, merch, concessions, etc.

but $20 to park a mile from the stadium? like i said, if it made a difference for something, i'd support it. but it wont, it's just LSU being greedy, and on principle alone, thats BS.

i'd be willing to bet you've thrown a crumbled up $20 at some hooker on a stage before, or gone to a casino and dropped $20 on two jack and cokes......just sayin, some shite costs more, and you pay it if you want it.

Pretty much. It's not just individuals affected by the recession. Wondering which he would rather: Have to pay a fairly small parking fee to go to the game or have season tickets increase substantially

That's the whole point. For season ticket holder's, its a stealth $10-$20/ticket raise in your season ticket prices.

If you weren't paying to park as part of the cost of attending a game at Tiger Stadium, now you do.

The % of people who as of now don't include the cost of parking while actually paying for their cost to attend a game in Tiger Stadium will now be tiny.

Which means the majority just saw the cost of attending the game go up.

It's like the Legislature raising or instituting a fee, and being able to look at their constituency in the eye and say they didn't vote for taxes. It's a completely semantic argument.

They raised prices on everyone, but they can say they didn't raise season ticket prices.

And I bet you $20 X 7 games that you will be there for every game, tailgating and having a great time.

The new high rise parking garage the school is building across from the Union. First of eight.

More Parking for LSU

quote:

The new garage, which will be on Raphael Semmes Rd., across from the Union, is scheduled to be completed by January 30, 2012.

The new structure will also feature a Barnes & Noble bookstore.

I think LSU is about the last school in the SEC to put up high rise parking.
