good for you.

that doesnt change the fact that the new parking fees are still ridiculous.

I'm not trying to get into a fight with you, but I do believe your thinking is flawed. For every 1 of you there is tha are backing out, there are 50 people waiting in line. You're not going to hurt "The Man". Trust me, I know what you are saying, but if you give up your tickets, parking spot, etc., someone else will come in and take it gladly.

I actually have a parking pass in Lot F (track parking lot) and I will NEVER give it up. I park on Nicholson for free as of now, and let a family member use the pass, because I get there at 6AM. If they ever charge me to park on Nicholson, I will just start parking in Lot F.

Just saying, renew your tickets, don't renew your tickets, park, don't park, it doesn't matter, LSU will sell out ALL of their season tickets and fill up every lot, as long as LSU is winning.

If you stop gong to games because it's getting too expensive too tailgate then you aren't there for the right reasons anyway. Still, the parking tickets are expensive and will be hard for some people to pay for. But as always, there will be more people ready to take up those season tix. There are a lot more than 92,000 Tiger fans.

it's not about hurting the man or anything like that. it's the fact that tailgating and attending an LSU football game costs a lot of money, more money that a lot of people can actually afford. i could buy a parking pass, but i choose not to and i forfeit all the privileges that come with a parking pass, and i accept that

now i have to pay $20 to park a mile away? come on now, thats retarded.

tickets, sure, someone in the family actually has them now. but i guarantee the great LSU tailgating experience will take a big hit with these fees, no doubt. there are A LOT of people who go just to tailgate and watch on TV out there, and there will be A LOT of people who wont do that this year

I hope you're wrong DBG. I love waking up on Saturday morning and walking outside the dorm to see thousands of people in purple and gold partying.

You do realize that virtually every SEC school has parking fees that are higher than LSU's still right? It's not like it's just LSU doing these fees.

And there will be just as many who will gladly come in and take their place

I disagree 10000%. There will not be 1 person who doesn't go tailgate next season because of the increased prices, including you.

i dont care what other SEC schools are doing. UGA has basically outlawed tailgating, and there campus is beautiful every sunday morning...maybe we should do that too!!!

Okay let's be realistic here. Some people will be affected to some degree. Attending games and tailgating is very expensive and it might be the thing to push some fans over the edge. However, there will be many who will say frick it and dish out more cash cause they have a passion for LSU. Other SEC schools charge much more and they still have an incredible turn out so it's ridiculous to say that a massive amount of people will not tailgate.

You do realize that there are almost or over 200,000 people on our campus on Saturdays, right? This is never going to change. People will park in different places, ride in with other people, etc., but they will still come.

disagree

there will be a lot of people who will decide to party and watch the game at home instead of shelling out money to fight traffic and deal with all the hassles that an LSU game is to party and watch it on tv there. it's just not logical, imo

and we havent even gotten into the logistical nightmare this will surely be

Agree, but what I meant was, for every person who chooses NOT to go because they will have to pay 20 bucks, another person will go. You don't really believe that LSU tailgating is going to drop off, do you? Really? You can't possibly, really believe that.

I don't think it will but I'm sure will affect some fans. There will be more to take their place but believe it or not money is hard to come by nowadays.

Pretty much. It's not just individuals affected by the recession. Wondering which he would rather: Have to pay a fairly small parking fee to go to the game or have season tickets increase substantially

I'd rather pay $20 for parking cause season tix increase would be really high.

this money grab isnt going to drastically change anything at LSU. are you serious?

hey, if they said $20 to park and we can save a major or two or lower prices, i'd be all for it. but neither will come close to happening.

it's a quick way to make an extra buck or two, relatively speaking

I agree, it will affect some fans. BUT, every paid lot WILL be sold out. Do you agree? And the campus will be crawling with with 200,000 fans, EVERY game, every year. So basically what I am saying is this: yes, tailgating might affect some fans this year, but tailgating WILL NOT AFFECT LSU this year.
