I think the fact is Mandel is an attention hound and likes to print outrageous anything in the hopes of creating some kind of scandal. It's the old philosophy of "sling enough shite against the wall and eventually some of it might stick." Then he could say he had a scoop. What a sad little man Mandel must be, and what a sad little life of frustration he must lead.
