Dead Space 2 - Multiplayer

Finished the single player campaign last night, and tried out the online gameplay. I have to say, its disappointing.
Who ever said it was close to L4D was giving it too much credit. The necromorphs greatly outpower lower lvl players with the default weapons, trying to shake off one by pressing "E" is pointless, Mics are left open by default (playing the PC version), etc...
Has anyone else tried it? If so, what is your opinion so far?

Haven't tried it, heard it's average at best.
I thought it would be an interesting idea to have objective based multiplayer like that, but oh well. The game obviously focuses on awesome single player campaigns.
