I wish the NCAA would crackdown on the multiple caps as a player announces his selected school. First of all, it has been played out for a decade. Second of all, it is an dig at the schools that are not selected.

What is wrong with standing there, announcing the school that you selected, and putting on that cap.

Maybe their parents should step in and tell them to stop being douches. A new rule is not necessary, just better parenting.

WTF can the NCAA do? They have no control over unsigned high school players. The NCAA screws things up enough as it is. God help us if they were able to control high school sports too.

Kinda wish News channels, ESPN, etc. would stop all coverage of this "look at me" crap and not make a big deal of it.

Agree that parents, coaches, etc. could suggest to these young men that they show some class and simply make their announcement to the school and on NSD fax or send in their papers... 'noughs enough.

Just like many other things, teenagers see other teenagers getting attention by doing something so they do it to. Only way to stop it is to quit showing it. ain't gonna happen

Clearly a 15 yard penalty on the school they choose is appropriate...

Does anyone know the origin of this? I would love to know who the mastermind was behind it.

+1

If they wouldn't throw a camera in their face they wouldn't do it.. but then again if "we" didn't create such a demand for it the news media wouldn't make such a big deal of it.

It's unbearable. I can't stand to watch that crap anymore. Think it was last year at the U/A game I got my fill.

"orchestrated" announcements are really immature and not amusing at all to me. but since we live in a free country they get to do it. damn.

Once again, completely agree, but it's hard to blame teenagers when they see Labron James orchestrate a fiasco of an announcement about his "free agency pick", but of course I could be wrong since it was all about doing good for the "Boys and Girls Clubs." All of this in-your-face choice with the hats is assinine, and it seems to be a symptom of the times. This is the one big thing in the entire family's life, and some of the people act like fools. We ought to follow up on them four or five years later and see how things turned out.

i dont mind having the multiple caps and picking one. I dont think that is at all disrespectful

What I HATE is when they reach for one and then fake like they are choosing that school, only to cast the hat to the side and put on a different hat.

That is truely classless. It would be nice to see a players momma smack him in the back of the head for pulling shite like that.

40 year old adults complaining about teenagers having fun with one of the most important decisions of their life. There are more important things to be worked up about. Get a Life.

I quit watching them last year or the year before when I witnessed that trashy-arse thug say "Dat hat ain't got no swagga, nah...neh dis hat, heeya, dis hat done got swagga."

All the while his mom and family looks on, beaming, and then when he finally puts on the Bama hat, proceeds to whoop and frolic around like an angry mob of chimpanzees putting on an aggressive display before attacking a rival band

It's only going to get worse because of TV ratings and Ad Dollars.
Look at how ESPN and Lebron James milked the ratings/dollars when he was making his announcement of who he chose.

The real loser in all this will be the schools as more top recruits wait till the last day of signing which hurts the schools because they don't know who they are getting. And it's just a matter of time before a new recruit gets caught receiving money from someone for how his signing announcement is handled.

Yes, the NCAA needs to crack down but I don't think they will until someone gets caught with money.

Until they sign the recruits can really do anything they want - the colleges and coaches can't comment until they sign
