No way. No how.

Both JJ and Mett are on an even playing field as far as learning a new play book goes. Mett is by far more of the typical "pro" style QB...

Mett will start!

I'll bet you are wrong, like I would literally bet you money JJ starts the first game against Oregon

JJ started even while shatting himself the first half of the season. JL bailed us out twice during that time and didn't even sniff the field the first two series. Keep on trolling...

can we at least give JJ a fighting chance? Perhaps a new offense with a coherent identity will be just what he needs.

I just hope one of our QBs can have a great year, I don't really care which one it is....

if Mett doesn't beat JJ out, i think JJ starts. if the JJ we saw at the cotton bowl comes back, that's OK. we need more than one qb anyway. i hope we get elevated qb play in '11. we should win the conference if we do.

JJ's skill set IMO has always favored a more Pro Style offense. He is a qb who would fit better into the pro style... its just a bonus he can scramble.

he doesnt fit an oregon type offense like crowton was trying to run.

I haven't been a big fan of JJ's but hey, he'll get his shot. He deserves it. A fresh approach, a more coherent offense, who knows. But I don't believe he'll start just because he's been starting for two years. Les wants to win games. If after spring/fall camp Mett is obviously better, Mett will start. If JJ is better, he'll start. There's a lot of water to pass under the bridge before the Oregon game.

It all depends on the spring game really, I think JJ will get the start against oregon but Mett will get the rest of the season. 09 JJ did better so hes progressivly gotten worst...9 games with 0 Tds and 8 INT isnt a sign of improving.

It's the young mans last season as a Tiger. I'm sure he'd like to go out with a boom and shut up the fans that booed him last season (Yes I agree he played poorly for the majority of the season). I just wish alot of fans would stop overhyping Mettenberger.

Nevertheless, I agree with you.all of this will be handled during the spring game.

Yes, but this won't matter, regardless of how well Mett does this Spring/Summer. JJ is the starter in Miles' eyes, and you are delusional if you don't think he's taking the field against Oregon.

Hopefully Mett will be able to win the job over during the year, but realistically the most I'm hoping for is that Miles gives the garbage time snaps to Mett, rather than JL. There is no logical reason for Lee to ever see the field again. Nothing personal against him, but we're going to have 2 full years of Mett, and he needs the backup snaps.
