POI: If a duck(cripple or alive) is on the water but out of range, aim about 6 feet BELOW the duck at the water. The pellets will ricochet into the bird. Works out to about 80 yards.

Oh, and if times are tough i'll no doubt blast a duck on the pond.

I usually just try to shoot them in the head.

I have gotten a double on mallards that landed right behind me on a beaver pond.
