For the record-I don't understand the whole pull for the SEC thing.

The only thing I can see is that college fb is based a lot on opinions and you need your conference to look strong in order to get benefit of the doubt on rankings, bowls, etc.

Having SEC teams do well is better for LSU because in the end LSU gets to the national title game based on people's vote. It always helps to be playing in the SEC because they are the best conference. It helps LSU to keep it that way.
On the other hand, the NFL has a playoff. You win and you keep on going. It really doesn't matter what you're divisional teams do because it really has no impact on you. So #### the Falcons.

This and this is the only reason.


The Saints do not benefit from the Falcons winning the Superbowl. The SEC benefits from having five straight BCS champions.

It's really not hard to undrstand
