We won our last game and the Michigan fiasco temporarily obscured some of the dissatisfaction.

The truth, however, is that Miles remains the same exact coach who botched Ole Miss 2009, Tennessee 2010, and Arkansas 2010. His teams are still inconsistent and play down to their competition far too often. We haven't won the West in three years. The fact that MIles was wooed by UM doesn't actually change his flaws or strengths.

I want to see another SEC title before I fete Miles.

This.312 pwns the thread. Nothing has changed except we are stuck with miles and must accept him. In the end, I'm still a hard core Tiger fan.

The same sort of thing is said about Stoops, Brown and Tressel by their programs, "fans". You're dealing with teenagers and young men who are dealing with all the distractions and issues of everyday school life. All coaches have flaws, not just whoever happens to be in BR. All coaches have game management issues from time to time, not just Miles. Is it disappointing and frustrating when it happens to your team, especially in a loss? Hell yeah. But don't fool yourselves into believing that every other major program doesn't have similar issues. Nick Saban let far superior teams lose to UAB and La Monroe. He displayed unbelievably poor game management in losses to Ark., Iowa and MSU. He blew a 24 point lead at home to Auburn. Yet he is still revered(and rightly so) as one of the premiere head coaches in America. Stoops, Brown and Meyer have all had similar struggles. Les has his moments but the bottom line is: he's as much a winner as any of the so-called elite coaches.

TRUTH. Most of the rantards have a very short memory and a very strong want to love the coach of their favorite team.

Miles hasn't changed, and at his age isn't likely to. Anyone expecting anything different is just crazy. I am prepared for and resigned to several more years of the same ... a frustrating dichotomy of great recruiting and great effort paired with an alarming lack of preparation and attention to detail on gameday that will manifest itself several times a season.

That said, I am hopeful that a new OC will be able to make a significant difference on the team moving forward, and I will refrain from any overly negative criticism until something happens that would warrant it. I am optimistic that this new hire could just be the tonic that we need to return to Atlanta.
